PERRY STALTARO, PSYD MSCP JD

Staltaro Psychological Services (SPS) started in 2004 in Fresno, California, and moved to Wethersfield, Connecticut in 2010. Since 1995, Perry has practiced in schools, outpatient clinics, crisis-inpatient units, forensic units, nursing homes, and other settings. His areas of expertise include Neuropsychological and Psychodiagnostic Testing, Child Play Therapy, Marital Counseling, Child Custody Evaluations, Forensic Risk Assessment, and Psychodynamic Therapy. He is known for detailed test reports which emphasize understanding the person behind the data. Perry holds a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the California School of Professional Psychology, a Post-Doctoral Masters Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP), and the Juris Doctor (JD) degree. He is licensed as a Psychologist in Connecticut and an active member of the American Psychological Association.

SHIRLEY STALTARO, PSYD

Over the past two decades, Shirley Oribio Staltaro has practiced in schools, universities, psychiatric inpatient, developmental centers, community mental health agencies, and outpatient mental health centers. She has served children, adolescents, and adults of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Shirley provides a humanistic and strengths-based, positive approach applying solution focused, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic techniques. She provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adults with a range of clinical presentations. Shirley holds a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the California School of Professional Psychology. Her undergraduate studies in psychology were through San Francisco State University and Creighton University with emphasis on Ethnic Studies. She is licensed as a Psychologist in Connecticut and is an active member of the American Psychological Association.

KAREN SCHEEL HOLLEY PSYD

Karen Scheel Holley is a licensed psychologist. Her clinical experience includes over 15 years of working with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric units, day treatment and schools. She has worked with clients experiencing a wide variety of difficulties including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, ADHD, oppositional/defiant behavior, peer conflicts, attachment disorders and parenting concerns. Karen holds a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology at the University of Hartford.

Karen’s approach to treatment is strengths-based, supportive, and collaborative. She strives to offer her clients a safe, respectful and non-judgmental environment in which they may explore and address their concerns. In order to best meet clients’ individual needs, she draws from a variety treatment approaches and utilizes cognitive behavioral, solution focused and psychodynamic techniques. She is also skilled in child play therapy and family therapy.

TRACIE PRELI-DERWIN LCSW

Tracie is a licensed clinical social worker focused on providing quality, individualized care to her clients. She has an undergraduate degree in social work from Western Connecticut State University and a graduate degree in social work from Springfield College. She is experienced in treating a wide range of clients, from children to the elderly. Tracie is trained in both individual and group treatment and has treated clients in many settings including inpatient, outpatient, and homecare. Her clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, grief/loss, relationship issues, substance abuse, trauma, chronic health issues/pain issues, dementia/caregiving issues and a variety of severe mental illnesses.

Tracie strives to create a warm, relaxed, comfortable, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. She is empathetic and utilizes a combination of supportive interventions to assist clients. Her goal is to utilize each client’s individual strengths to obtain adaptive coping skills and improve overall functioning.

OMAR RIVERA LCSW

Omar Rivera is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has more than 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. In 2001, he earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut (UCONN). He has worked in multiple child outpatient clinics providing psychiatric treatment for children and their families. He has been trained on EMDR, trauma treatment, co-occurring disorder, ADHD and parenting skills.
