Karen Scheel Holley is a licensed psychologist. Her clinical experience includes over 15 years of working with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric units, day treatment and schools. She has worked with clients experiencing a wide variety of difficulties including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, ADHD, oppositional/defiant behavior, peer conflicts, attachment disorders and parenting concerns. Karen holds a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology at the University of Hartford.
Karen’s approach to treatment is strengths-based, supportive, and collaborative. She strives to offer her clients a safe, respectful and non-judgmental environment in which they may explore and address their concerns. In order to best meet clients’ individual needs, she draws from a variety treatment approaches and utilizes cognitive behavioral, solution focused and psychodynamic techniques. She is also skilled in child play therapy and family therapy.
